SINGAPORE: The Commander of the Royal Navy of Oman is on an introductory visit to Singapore.
Rear-Admiral (RADM) Abdullah Khamis Abdullah Al Raisi, who is here from January 14 to 16, called on Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen at the Ministry of Defence (MINDEF) on Tuesday morning.
He also called on Chief of Defence Force Lieutenant-General Neo Kian Hong and Chief of Navy RADM Ng Chee Peng.
MINDEF said the visit underscores the warm and friendly defence relations between Singapore and Oman.
Oman has provided support for the Singapore Armed Forces' task groups deployed to the Gulf of Aden for counter-piracy operations under the ambit of Combined Task Force-151. The armed forces of both countries interact regularly at multilateral defence exhibitions and through the exchange of visits.
RADM Abdullah Khamis will also visit the Changi Control and Command Centre and the Naval Training Command at Changi Naval Base.
